Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, presents a gripping courtroom thriller, offering a rare and revealing inside look at a high-profile murder trial. In 2001, author Michael Peterson was arraigned for the murder of his wife Kathleen, whose body was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the stairway of their home. Granted unusual access to Peterson's lawyers, home and immediate family, de Lestrade's cameras capture the defense team as it considers its strategic options. "The staircase" is an engrossing look at contemporary American justice that features more twists than a legal bestseller.
I will be providing my insights on various things and random thoughts that come to my mind during the day.

I've seen it. I love all sundance films. They're the most well made.

Awww. only 1/4th of the whole thing?! damn.
I'm not falling for the family's "OMG he's never angry."
The 18 yo chick got busted with the "usually". The youngest son admitted he was violent other than traditional "spanking". Don't feel like watching the rest to see how it turns out, but I can totally see it being a crime.

Reading the IMDB, looks interesting.
Don't know if I'll have the time to watch it though.

@Sean
It was actually me who recommended to you, but I fucked up the time it was scheduled to come out at, I put it the 01/03/11 instead of 01/04/11. I remember seeing your comment as I was deleting the post.

The name instantly reminded me of The Room. I'm sure this will be better though.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for it on Netflix. I remember hearing about the case in the news, but it's been long enough that hopefully I can have a fresh viewing.
