Dating someone with a disability?

Friday, 25 March 2011
Last weekend I was in a nightclub in Dublin where a group of guys in electric wheelchairs were wheeling around the dance floor (not synchronized). One of them couldn't speak but he had a little screen to type on. I noticed he was talking to an attractive bird, he typed something along the lines of 'I might be disabled but my cock is fully active if you want to find out later.

Anyway this got me thinking about dating a girl with a disability. I used to quite fancy a barmaid in my local who has a wonky leg. When she walks behind the bar she moves up and down all the time like its really uneven behind it. She is an attractive girl and really nice but I don't think I could be able to get the messed up leg out of my mind.

So has anyone ever had an encounter with someone with a disability or would you be able to handle dating someone with a disability?

My girlfriend has epilepsy. Her medicine controls it fairly well, but once every couple of months she'll have a seizure and be out of it for days.

Not the same as a persistent disability like a gimp leg, I know. I am sure you could get past it eventually. Plus she probably gets more tips due to sympathy...if they tip in Ireland.

Why not, depend of the feeling that you have with the girl "Beauty gets the attention, personality gets the heart"

  1. I've been hit on by a man with a mental disability, but he was twice my age and couldn't stop talking about the girlfriend he'd once had about two decades prior, so dating him was kinda out of the question. Nice guy though.

I work at a place where a mentally disabled person molested a child in the bathroom. It was all over the news! I knew the guy too. Crazy stuff.

    good article mate!

  1. It depends on what the disability is, but with all seriousness, I wouldn't date someone. I have plenty of friends who have disabilities, but dating is a whole new level.

I havnt had an experience. But I would date someone if i found them to my liking. You might get some difficult situations. But every relationship has issue. These would just be a bit different

If she's cute and funny, I'll definitely date her. But, you're right, at the moment, it'd awkward, I guess.
